Would you like to collaborate and share ideas to improve your teaching skills?

Kathryn "Kat" Linehan has led group classes and individual personal training for more than a decade and has been training teachers for FORM since 2005.

"Kat has been teaching for Pure Fitness locations in the greater Seattle area for over one year and has proven to be an enormous asset to my staff of instructors. She successfully created the largest following of any instructor I have hired in 10 years of directing group fitness programs."

Ubuntu (/ˈbʊnt/ oo-BUUN-too; is a Nguni Bantu term roughly translating to "human kindness."

In Desmond Tutu's, "No Future Without Forgiveness" (p. 31, 1999), he wrote about ubuntu being difficult to render into the English language. He describes it as:

  • "My humanity is caught up, is inextricably bound up, in yours." A person is a person through other persons. It is not, "I think therefore I am." It says rather: I am human because I belong. I participate, I share."
  • "A person with ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greather whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed, or treated as if they were less than who they are."
